According to regulations of the European Union, identity cards and passports must carry data on a contactless readable RF-chip. There will be stored biographic data as well as personal sceurity features and biometric data on that chip. Inspection authorities and registration offices of police and border control can read this data. For this purpose, these public authorities receive authorization certificates for their ePass-Terminals. For verifying the data, they need cryptographic keys and certificates which have to be implemented into the passport readers in a secure and timely manner. With an ePass solution by akm software, the certificates can be implemented online, via an online transaction from a processing instance into the passport reader terminals. There is no need to implement the current certificates manually. [www.akm.de]
