Bosch presents new magnetic contacts with EN50131-2-6 certification Print E-mail

Bosch has extended its offering of EN tested security products by introducing a new range of magnetic contacts for use in intrusion control applications. The new offering includes a number of recessed mount contacts, surface mount contacts and shutter door contacts. All contacts have been tested by an independent accredited laboratory against EN50131-2-6. They are among the first magnetic contacts certified for this standard.

Following Bosch´s commitment to offer optimized solutions for a wide range of applications to installers and distributors, the new range is comprised of two series with different specifications. One of these series fulfils all requirements of EN50131-2-6 grade 2, while the other one is certified for grade 3, ensuring sabotage security.

The new magnetic contacts have been designed for intrusion control applications with high detection accuracy and minimized false alarm rates in doors and windows:

  • The recessed mount contacts can easily be mounted in doors as well as in window and door cases. They are completely invisible. The grade 2 contact can also be surface mounted and supports metal and non-metal surfaces, while grade 3 only allows for recessed mounting in non-metal environments.
  • The surface mount contacts are meant for being mounted on doorframes, windows and doors. Due to their smart design they can be installed unobtrusively in virtually any environment.
  • The new shutter door contacts are used for control of sliding gates, roller shutter doors and garage doors.

The new magnetic contacts have been developed with ease of installation in mind, enabling installers to focus on the real important tasks - architecture, planning, and installation of alarm systems. Also design was an important factor, allowing them to embed the contacts quite neutrally. As an example, the surface mount contacts are mounted with screws which are hidden after installation. The recessed mount ferromagnetic contacts have extremely flat flanges that allow installation even in very tide closing doors.

All new contacts are backed by extensive experience in developing magnetic contacts and by rigorous 100 % testing against the EN requirements. [www.boschsecurity.com]
