Infineon: World’s First CIPURSE-compliant Chips Print E-mail
Wednesday, 23 November 2011 14:33

Infineon Technologies has launched the world’s first security chip solutions compliant to the open standard CIPURSE for public transport applications. Providing CIPURSE compliant products for tickets and mobile payment applications, Infineon meets the demand for flexible and efficient access control and transit fare solutions with a high level of security.

With a dedicated CIPURSE controller, Infineon offers a security chip public transport companies can easily and efficient implement in tickets or cards. It allows secure access to trains and buses as well as secure, interoperable and flexible automatic fare collection implementations. The CIPURSE controller is fully compliant with the CIPURSE security specifications of the OSPT Alliance. It’s the first of several CIPURSE compliant products for public transport applications Infineon will launch within the near future.

Also, Infineon has launched the first CIPURSE compliant NFC (Near Field Communication) Secure Elements. This allows transport providers to introduce secure ticket purchase and access control via NFC enabled mobile devices. Infineon offers CIPURSE functionality for NFC Secure Elements using Single Wire Protocol (SWP) as well as for embedded Secure Elements (eSE) with Digital Contact Less Bridge (DCLB) interfaces.

The CIPURSE system will ease the deployment of NFC solutions to be used in ticketing and transport applications. It operates on standard infrastructures and does not require specific terminal and specific Trusted Service Management (TSM). CIPURSE offers a clear and transparent licensing scheme also for the NFC users. [www.infineon.com] [www.osptalliance.org]
