Optex Europe (active in the detection business) and EMCS, an independent alarm receiving centre (ARC), have been working together to drive down the high amount of false alarms blighting the security of several sites. EMCS was looking for an effective solution for the installer, Panther Security, and end user to overcome increasingly high volumes of false alarms that were impacting on service. “The answer was in working with our installers and Optex Europe by ensuring all detectors were properly aligned,” says Mark Hewerdine, CCTV Manager of EMCS. Optex has installed its REDWALL range of sensors and, working together with EMCS and the security staff of the sites, was able to eliminate false alarms almost completely, reducing them at one particular site from 440 to 13 in one week.
