Pensher Skytech, a specialist for bomb blast resistant doors, bullet resistant doors, fire doors, vandal resistant doors, windows and screens for differing environments, has been awarded two major projects in the UK in the beginning of 2011. The first is a key project for the Nuclear Sector (in Sellafield) for high quality, non corrosive, stainless steel, 2Hr Fire Resistant Doorsets. Due to the project specific demands of the doors a Fire Test of an Oversize 3m x 3m double doorset complete with Client specified hardware, was successfully completed at Efectis Laboratory, Netherlands to confirm the compliance to performance demands. The second project is for a range of 60No commissioned ATEX (Control of Explosive Atmospheres) Performance Doorsets which require fragmentation and blast resistance in event of incident, coupled with a operational design (especially for sliding doors) which combats potential gunpowder build up (ie no sole guide rails) or electro-static ignition (ie friction via sliding gear, electronic locking etc) to cause potential deflagration to a major UK Armaments Establishment.
