With the integration of an optical block developed by Sony, the new Full HD-Networkcameras are able to reach a very large focal range. The Networkcameras SNC-EP580 and SNC-ER580 provide 20x optical zoom with Full-HD resolution (1080p), the SNC-EP550 and SNC-ER550 even provide up to 28x optical zoom and also HD-resolution (720p).

At the moment, the majority of HD-PTZ-cameras on the market is able to give only up to 20x optical zoom. That makes it very difficult to use HD in Outdoor-Applications, for example at airports, seaports, sport stadiums or parking garages. The SNC-ER550 lets users see a complete scenario from all sites - by deploying it's 28x optical zoom, as well as a pivoting range of 360° and a tilt range of up to 210° - in HD.

Furthermore, Sony's 'Real Colour'-Technology makes it possible to gain high quality, color-exact images even in the natrium lighting of streetlights. That makes it possible, for example, to deduce if a car is coloured dark blue or rather grey with a great certainity. [www.sony.de]
