Traffic detection and new generation of ANPR-System by Siemens Print E-mail
Wireless traffic detection: With Sitraffic Wimag, Siemens Mobility offers a completely new type of detector technology. It operates with high precision, does not require any type of wiring and can be installed in just a few minutes. The system is based on magnetic sensors. High-quality traffic data are required to avoid traffic jams and long waiting times at intersections. Until now, one of the most common ways to access such information was to use inductive loop detectors embedded under the road surface – a cumbersome and inflexible system.

Camera system for ANPR: Sicore is the new-generation ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera system designed by Siemens Mobility to read number plates automatically, thus ensuring positive identification of motor vehicles. Sicore caters to a wide range of application in the areas of parking space monitoring and security, vehicle speed and journey time measurement, as well as toll collection. Its implementation, however, is always subject to the data privacy laws of each individual country.

Wimag: The Wimag vehicle detection system was designed around data dependability - the combination of high accuracy and high availability. Wimag uses small, in-ground sensors located immediately under passing vehicles. The sensors send unique vehicle information through a wireless link for data collection, control and aggregation. Compared to other technologies, like video detection or inductive loops, Wimag is the most dependable, most flexible, and provides the lowest total operating cost. [www.siemens.de/traffic]
