LRSS, a Sheffield-based independent provider of security solutions, was contracted to supply perimeter sensors to protect 19 buildings on an outdoor construction site owned by housing developer Lovell. Optex's BoundaryGard detectors turned out to be ideal for the project, as Craig Allen, Managing Director of LRSS, explains.

"At LRSS, we had been moving towards using electronic security systems for the last couple of years but were unsure about external sensors, having only ever had experience of inferior detection equipment. When I was given the opportunity to quote for this site, I was ten minutes away from refusing until I came across Compound Security Systems, which specified one of its own systems incorporating the BoundaryGard solution."

Craig says that the RDAS GPRS system incorporating Optex detectors has proved to be far more reliable than previous solutions he has encountered, which were only suitable for internal applications.
