Tuesday, 31 January 2012 15:10

A Fujinon D60x16.7SR4DE-V21 extreme long range, high definition CCTV, day/night telephoto zoom lens, supplied by UK/Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI Limited to specialist Inverness based company Wildlife-for-all, is being used in a land based remote controlled camera system in Scotland for watching whales and dolphins off shore in the North Sea. The viewing system has been installed by Wildlife-for-all for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS) at the Scottish Dolphin Centre in Spey Bay, and is one of other WDCS land based watching sites situated in Scotland.

The Fujinon D60x16.7 lens is used with a remote controlled camera pan/tilt unit, with remote lens zoom/focus/iris function, mounted high on the chimney of a suitable building for the best panoramic sea view. Whales and dolphins can be watched live from a viewing centre, or later from a recorded picture. Peter Mackay of Wildlife-for-all explains: “We chose the Fujinon D60x16.7SR4DE-V21 telephoto zoom lens not only for its high magnification properties but its ability to give clear, bright pictures of whales and dolphins out at sea – providing viewers with detailed activity shots at a distance”.

The new D60x16.7 telephoto zoom lens is designed for sharp extreme long range surveillance and observation. Supporting up to 2  million pixel, ½ inch format C mount high resolution cameras the new versatile Fujinon D60x16.7SR4DE-V21 lens features a built-in motorised 2x range extender plus a four position remote controllable filter system with selectable Clear, ND1, ND2 and IR High Pass filter positions. Also featured is remote iris override for manual iris adjustment and automatic back focus tracking. [www.pyser-sgi.com]
