The average market share of IP cameras in Western Europe is about 25% - 30%, which means that the amount of analogue cameras in use is still very high. The price competition on the market for analogue cameras is strong too, but functionally is not always given. By using a CAT cable infrastructure solution by santec users can create a camera system with different kinds of analogue cameras. All cameras are equipped with twisted pair transmitter with a RJ45 connector. Video, power supply and telemetry data are in one cable. The advantages are: No need for main voltage at each camera, only lens adjustments on the camera have to be made for WDR, back light compensation and white balance. Gain control and others settings can be done from one central place. Cameras are available as outdoor tube camera with adjustable IR LED’s, indoor and outdoor mini dome cameras and box type camera, all as day/night version with 650 TVL. With Santec’s new twisted pair receiver, available in a 16 channel version, users have a central power supply. [www.santec-video.com]
