Rohde & Schwarz receives GTI Honorary Award for contribution to creating robust TD-LTE ecosyste
The GTI Honorary Award is granted by the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI). This organization consists of leading global operators and has successfully helped commercialize TD-LTE networks and services. GTI recently launched GTI 2.0 to focus on 5G technology. Test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz has been cooperating closely with GTI, and was now awarded for its long-standing contribution.
Rohde & Schwarz has been active in helping define the test ecosystem and overcoming challenges of device certifications for TD LTE. The company has also been a multiple-time winner of GTI awards ever since the organization was founded in 2011, including the GTI Gold Award in 2015 for the user experience test solution for TD-LTE mobile services.
The GTI awards are usually granted to a device, a program or a solution, but this time the recipient of the Honorary Award was Dr. Thomas Eyring, Senior Director of Network Operator Test Systems Development at Rohde & Schwarz. Dr. Eyring has been an active member of GTI since 2011 and has taken part in the functions of the organization, including consulting, providing solutions and participating in the creation of test cases while the TD-LTE ecosystem was being created. Nonetheless, Dr. Eyring sees the award as a tribute to the successful collaboration between Rohde & Schwarz and GTI.
On receiving the GTI Honorary Award, Dr. Eyring commented: “This award is a testament to our continuous cooperation. With its mix of marketing, business case discussion, technical analysis and problem solving, the GTI organization represents a global collaboration platform for creating a robust TD-LTE ecosystem. With GTI 2.0 now paving the way toward 5G, Rohde & Schwarz is committed to contributing to GTI also in the future.”
The GTI Honorary Award was presented in the context of the GTI Summit at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
